2018 Project / Demo Boat - "On the Bite"


Our fourth and current 2018 project/demo boat “On the Bite” is a 1988, 28' Bertram FB II    a complete retrofit including a full SIMRAD suite of electronics.



March - At dock engine and transmissions repaired and inspected, overhauled new fuel and cooling lines, oil coolers.

April - Hauled out the boat at Spencer’s Boat Yard to begin the project, the cutlass bearings were replaced and props computer balanced. Under the water line projects including,1kW transducer. 3D StructureScan and DownScan, electric reel outlets, Underwater Lights Limited underwater lights, cockpit fx lighting, fresh water engine rinse, rejuvenated swim platform, repainted the transom white and boot stripe to blue and re-named her “On the Bite”  (previously “TLC”)

May - Upgrading to an aluminum gas tank, adding Aqua Air SSIG-10 self-contained A/C and painting the bottom blue, begin repainting super structure, adding cockpit stereo speakers. 


June - Install arch and soft top with an electronics box - two 12" SIMRAD NSS EVO3 MFD’s, HALO radar w/ doppler, auto-pilot, AIS, VHF, Gemlux Deluxe outriggers, additional house battery with ACR, Scotty Electric downriggers, CMOR mapping software, navigation lighting, leaning post with interchangeable fighting chair and continue re-painting the topside super structure including blue stripes. 



Our projected completion date is June 2018 
which is Accurate Marine Electronics’ 10-year Anniversary! 






Our first demo/project boat in 2008 was completed in 2013 the “Wild Butterfly” which was a 1987 Grady White 240 Offshore with SIMRAD, Ocean LED and KVH



Our second project boat in 2012 was the “Winnie Estelle”, a 1920 Chesapeake Bay which was our first big retrofit featuring SIMRAD and GOST. Also included was a complete installation of A/C electric shore power and distribution, as well as fresh water tanks and holding tanks. 




Our third demo/project boat in 2017 was a 2017 Onslow Bay center console “Leviathan” with a complete SIMRAD package very similar to our current project.
