2018 / 2019 Project / Demo Boat - "On the Bite"
Our fourth project/demo boat “On the Bite” is a 1988, 28' Bertram FB II - a complete retrofit including a full SIMRAD suite of electronics.
PHASE ONE:
MARCH 2018
- At Dock Engine and Transmissions Repaired and Inspected
- Overhauled New Fuel and Cooling Lines, Oil Coolers
APRIL 2018
- Hauled out the boat at Spencer’s Boat Yard to begin the project
- The cutlass bearings were replaced and props computer balanced
- Under the water line projects including1kW transducer
- 3D StructureScan and DownScan
- Electric reel outlets
- Underwater Lights Limited underwater lights
- Cockpit fx lighting
- Fresh water engine rinse
- Rejuvenated swim platform
- Repainted the transom white and boot stripe to blue
- Re-named her “On the Bite” (previously “TLC”)
MAY 2018
- Upgraded to an Aluminum Gas Tank
- Painted the Bottom Blue
- Added Cockpit Stereo Speakers

Our third demo/project boat in 2017 was a 2017 Onslow Bay center console “Leviathan” with a complete SIMRAD package very similar to our current project.
PREVIOUS PROJECT /DEMO BOATS
Our first demo/project boat in 2008 was completed in 2013 the “Wild Butterfly” which was a 1987 Grady White 240 Offshore with SIMRAD, Ocean LED and KVH
Our second project boat in 2012 was the “Winnie Estelle”, a 1920 Chesapeake Bay which was our first big retrofit featuring SIMRAD and GOST. Also included was a complete installation of A/C electric shore power and distribution, as well as fresh water tanks and holding tanks.
